As we move into Week 6 of the coronavirus lockdown here in the UK, here at Liban we have been offering a Takeaway Service for local residents for a few weeks now so that everyone stuck at home day after day can spice up their home menu from time to time and some variety to their diet.
We are also doing our bit to help frontline workers in the NHS and charities who are helping to feed to less fortunate in our society, by preparing 500 to 1,000 meals a week and delivering them four to five times per week.
We are working with Sovereign Partners who are providing us with sustainable packaging as well as the NHS and The Felix Project.
Our chefs prepare Halal Lebanese meals consisting of three options: Lebanese rice and mixed vegetables with our own special sauce or chickpeas with fresh herbs and tomatoes or Lebanese rice with grilled chicken and our special sauce. All our rice is gluten free.

We recently took part in the StreetSmart campaign to support The Felix Project, a London based food rescue charity.
The Felix Project deliver food, free of charge, to a number of homeless services in the city and have helped raise funds for other organisations to provide services such as hot meals or a bed for the night for those most in need.

This stylish restaurant and cocktail bar is nestled in South Woodford and comes complete with a starry-lit, outdoor terrace equipped with heaters for those chilly, wintery evenings. You’ll be spoilt for choice with their menu, but luckily, all dishes are made for sharing meaning there’s no need to argue over ordering! If you can’t decide, the set menus cover all bases. All dishes are prepared daily too, using only the freshest, local Lebanese ingredients from halloumi cheese down to the olive oil.
We have just launched our new winter and Christmas menus here at Liban this week to coincide with our festive and colourful Parisian Terrace.
This Festive Season we will offering a special Christmas Menu for £39.50 per person which includes a glass of our Lebanese red or white wine and choice of Truffle Oil Hummus, Tempura Tiger Prawns or Soujuk (spicy sausages) to begin your meal.
The main course is a delicious Mixed Grill of kafta, lamb meshawi and shish taouk with lamb chops and chicken wings. For dessert, you can choose between our Lebanese Osmalia or Mango or Crème Brülée. You can then round off your meal with a hot freshly brewed pot of tea and freshly made baklava.
We are also offering a special New Year’s Eve menu for £48.00 per person as well as a special Vegan Christmas and New Year’s Eve menu.
Our new winter Lunch and Brunch Menu offers something for everyone with a wide selection of delicious wraps, cold and hot tapas dishes and main courses, all served with a choice of fries or rice.
We have a healthy range of salads and side dishes to choose from, such as our Shish Taouk and Fattoush salads.
We serve our new winter Brunch Menu on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am to 3:00pm, which makes for the perfect family weekend outing.
Our new Winter Dessert Menu includes our recently introduced Milk Cakes with saffron, rose and pistachio. Our Red Velvet Cake is not for the faint-hearted and our Beirut Crêpe and Beirut Waffle are always popular in the winter months!

On Wednesday 19th June we held our official launch party after a successful soft launch for Liban Tapas back in December.
We asked Big Brother contestant Simon Gross to host the event for us whilst other well-known personalities came along to help us celebrate our opening, including Towie’s James Lock, Pete Wicks and TV personality Alex Reid.
The evening started with the customary photo call against our Liban Tapas liveried wall, before guests moved towards the open restaurant and bar area for some bubbly, Lebanese wines and delicious canapés and tasty freshly prepared Lebanese bites our chefs had prepared for our guests.
Talented vocalist Jamie Lee Nelson provided the entertainment throughout the evening with a selection of popular songs.
In between a few heavy downpours of rain, well it is England after all, our enclosed Parisian Terrace proved to be popular, where guests also got the opportunity to sample our shisha.
Later in the evening our popular belly dancer popped in to also entertain the guests, who were eager to join in the fun!
As Simon Gross said: “The restaurant offers high-class Lebanese food at its best and it right on your doorstep.”

At the end of March, we held our first Yoga event on our Parisian Terrace here at Liban which was open to anyone to attend.
Yoga expert Simone Goldstein, who has years of experience, put together a special Vinyasa style session for the full class of eight enthusiastic guests who arrived promptly at 11:00am and were welcomed with some fresh fruit juice and iced water to set them up nicely for their class.
The black Astroturf on the Parisian Terrace made for the perfect setting with yoga mats, Tarrant cards, pillow and blankets placed on top. Aromatic candles made for the perfect ambience to get everyone in the mood.
The Yoga experience here at Liban also included a special set lunch. So prior to the class beginning, we took the guests’ orders so that the kitchen could prepare their lunch whilst they were stretching their limbs on the terrace!
The 45-minute class was truly invigorating and had worked up some healthy appetites. So it was then into the Sunroom for an assortment of delicious hot and cold tapas dishes from the set lunch menu, which also included soft drinks and fresh mint tea and freshly made baklava to finish off what was a healthy and appetising meal.
This was our first event of the year on the terrace, and we are delighted it proved to be such a huge success. Even the British weather was uncharacteristically good, making it a great way to kick start the Spring Season.
We’re delighted to say that the restaurant will be opening for its soft launch on Thursday 13th December 2018 and we are accepting table reservations from this date.
The new lunch and dinner menus will be going up on the website on Tuesday 4th December.
